Working on thermal management of data centers and electronics through sponsored research spanning two ARPA-E COOLERCHIPS projects and a Northrop Grumman collaboration. My work combines two-phase cooling, system-level simulation, scientific software development, and experimental testing and validation.

Technical Scope

  • Sole developer of the two-phase flow module within MOSTCOOL for next-generation data center cooling system design
  • Developed a branch-first adaptive tearing solver that improved convergence robustness in two-phase flow modeling by 25× over the current state of the art
  • Contribute beyond the two-phase solver to broader MOSTCOOL integration across thermal, energy and reliability workflows
  • Support a second ARPA-E effort with the University of Florida on membrane-assisted two-phase cooling architectures for 1 MW data center racks
  • Work with Northrop Grumman on encapsulated phase change material slurry with dielectric fluid cooling, including modeling and ongoing cold-plate design and characterization

Research Leadership, Coordination, and Proposal Development

  • Provide day-to-day research execution across sponsored efforts by helping translate PI-level direction into executable technical tasks and next steps
  • Coordinate meetings, milestones, deadlines, and deliverables across collaborators to keep multi-party projects on track
  • Support proposal development, technical framing, and planning for sponsored research efforts
  • Bridge communication across collaborators by organizing discussions, aligning technical priorities, and maintaining continuity across evolving project tasks

Developed higher-order numerical schemes and scientific solvers for compressible flow problems, with validation against benchmark Euler and Navier–Stokes cases.

  • Developed higher-order implicit shock-capturing schemes for compressible flow simulations based on linearization of implicit flux Jacobians
  • Created and validated numerical solvers for Euler and Navier–Stokes equations against benchmark problems
  • Built foundations in CFD, finite volume methods, and nonlinear PDE solver development
